A large format camera and slow shutter speed produce the mystic quality of the waterfall in this image. Soft "tent" light from an overcast day produces the subtle shading of the rock.

The flow of water from right to left might otherwise produce some tension in this image, but the diagonals in the trees and rocks produce a counter movement that encourages the eye to examine the entire image.
