Morning glow This photo is typical of the landscape I love - windswept White Pines growing along the edge of a river in the Canadian Shield. Most summer days in my favourite haunts usually start with an early morning mist, this was a little more dramatic than most days. The photo was taken with a Leica R4 with a 180 mm 2.8 lens. I normally expose this type of shot a little brighter to keep the misty feeling, but this darker exposure works much better. The photo has appeared in several books and magazines. Among the titles is Romancing The Land - a little picture book celebrating the Canadian Landscape edited by Lorraine Monk. Lorraine is a former editor of the Stills Division of Canada's National Film Board and getting a phone call her asking to use this photo was a great honour. |
