Autumn in Algonquin

This photo is very typical of Autumn in the Canadian Shield. The deciduous trees turn into a riot of colour and their fallen leaves dot the landscape with punctuations of colour.

The photo was taken on Ekatchrome film in a 4X5 view camera using a 135 mm lens.

The light was a very subdued "tent" effect because of the strong overcast weather. A long, light, drizzling rain had soaked the leaves which contributes greatly to the overall saturation of the colours.

This photo has appeared in several books and calendars.
