Bounty of the swamp

The photo was taken using an experiment I conducted. Reasoning that enlarging lenses were designed to be working in the close focus range, I mounted a 105 mm lens from my darkroom onto a bellows on a Pentax.

The results were quite pleasing and several of the resulting images, including this one, have been published in magazines, books and calendars.

This is looks like a simple composition at first glance, but finding the right balance between the elements required a lot of fiddling with camera position. Buttercups, Wood Lilies and Showy Lady slippers provide the subject matter against a rich textured pattern of green.
