Canoe"
Dressing
for the occassion
The
photo may not look like it, but the date is August 1.
This was the last day of a three week trip in the arctic
and it illustrates how important it is to bring the right
kind of clothes for an outing. The weather on this trip
ranged from shirt-sleeve warm to an inch of ice on the
standing puddles outside the tent in the morning.
Children
loose heat faster than adults do, so its even more
important that they have the right clothing. Clothing for
children should be organized with lots of layers in mind.
Choose clothes that don't absorb much water if they get
wet. And be prepared to give up some of your own clothes
if the kids go through all of their own.
