Route of canoe trip.

The trip had three distinct sections. From Tuma Lake down the Carswell River to the William was the first section. From the William's Delta to the Mcfarlane was the second leg of the journey. Paddling up the McFarlane to the small un-named lake where we camped was the final leg.

Located near the center of Canada, just south of the NWT border.

The Athabasca Sand Dunes are located at the northern end of Saskatchewan. The region is just below the 60th parallel which means that summer nights don't get very dark. Winds can be a problem for paddlers in this remote wilderness and trip planning should include a few layover days in anticipation of being wind-bound.
